India's e-Visa and embassy visa applications have specific photo requirements. Getting them wrong means rejection. Here are the current requirements and how to prepare your photo free.
Indian e-Visa Photo Requirements
- → Format: JPEG
- → Size: 10KB–1MB
- → Dimensions: Minimum 350×350 pixels, maximum 1000×1000 pixels (square)
- → Background: White
- → Face: Looking straight, covering 70-80% of frame
Important: The Indian e-Visa requires a square photo (same width and height). This is different from standard passport photos which are rectangular (35×45mm). Make sure to use a square crop.
How to Prepare Your Photo
- 1. Use Passport Photo Maker — select "India e-Visa" for automatic square crop
- 2. Or use Crop Image to manually crop to square, then Resize to 600×600px
- 3. Use Compress Image if the file is over 1MB (usually not needed)
Indian Visa (Embassy) — Sticker Visa
For visa applications through Indian embassies (not e-Visa), the requirements are:
- → Print size: 2×2 inch (51×51mm)
- → Format: Color JPEG
- → Background: White
